Your photo as a String Art picture
Instead of being printed, your image is constructed from thousands of nails and a single long thread.
How are these pictures made?
To determine the exact path of the string, we developed several computer algorithms ourselves. This allows the original image to be translated into a string art picture much more precisely than could ever be done by hand. In dark areas, the thread is laid over the same spots many times from different directions. The nail positions are individually calculated for each image so that contrast edges are optimally reproduced.
The robots are now in our small production hall in Karlsruhe, in the south of Germany, from where we also ship the pictures directly.
Thus, all our string art pictures are 100% Made In Germany!

Why a string art picture has a different effect
A string art picture works differently than a printed image.
Instead of paint or ink, the motif is created exclusively by guiding a single string.
This string is stretched thousands of times between the nails, creating different densities and overlays.
Light areas are created by few string lines, dark areas by many overlapping lines.
Thus, your motif is formed not by ink, but by structure and contrast. The result appears clear and detailed from a distance, and shows the individual lines that make up your picture up close.

How many nails and how many meters of string are in one picture?
For each string art picture, we note the exact string length and the number of nails on the back. This varies with each picture, as it depends on the brightness and details of the motif. For example, a panorama uses approx. 12,000 nails and just over 2000 m of string.
Can I order my own designs?
Yes, of course you can. The configurator on our website can even directly show a preview of what the string art picture will look like later.
